In 2023, Rhema Community College embraced the belief that integrating work skills and life skills training is essential for empowering underprivileged communities. Starting with 26 women and youth who had missed educational opportunities, the college focused on training individuals such as school drop outs, home makers, widows, single parents, and migrants. By equipping them with employable skills, Rhema successfully placed these individuals in jobs, fostering community development and enhancing their prospects for a better life. This initiative highlights the transformative power of education and skill training in creating sustainable employment opportunities.


Objectives:


  • Skills Training: Deliver targeted skills training programs that prepare students for gainful employment in various industries.

  • Holistic Development: Foster personal development through workshops and mentorship, addressing life skills alongside vocational training.

  • Basic Educational Support: Assist students in completing their basic education, enabling them to pursue further opportunities.

  • Community Integration: Build partnerships with local businesses to create job placement pathways and internships.

  • Flexible Learning Options: Offer flexible schedules and online learning opportunities to accommodate the needs of homemakers and working individuals.

  • Support Services: Implement mentorship and counselling services to guide students throughout their educational journey.

  • Job-Oriented Education: To promote work-related skills and life coping education, enhancing students’ quality of life and employability.

  • Opportunities for Completion: To provide avenues for individuals to complete their basic education, ensuring they can pursue further opportunities.


Target Group:


  1. High School Dropouts: Individuals who have not completed their education but seek to improve their prospects.

  2. Disadvantaged Youth: Individuals facing educational and employment barriers.

  3. Underprivileged Women: Women seeking to improve their skills and economic opportunities. Including homemakers and those looking to re-enter the workforce.

  4. Widows: Women navigating new life circumstances.

  5. Single Parents: Individuals balancing family responsibilities with the need for employment.

  6. Migrants: Those who have relocated and are seeking integration into the workforce.

  7. House maids: Including Cooks, housekeeping staff & sweepers in markets.

  1. Assistant Beauty Therapist - NSDC certification

  2. Office Management- Diploma certification

  3. Early Childhood Care & Education- Diploma certification

  4. General Duty Assistant- NSDC certification

  5. Tailoring- Self employed
